EMOTIONS run high on the first episode of Britain’s Got Talent as Ant McPartlin bursts into tears while watching an incredible performance.
The touching scenes will have viewers reaching for their box of tissues as the Geordie TV legend and his co-stars all struggled to stop crying throughout the audition.
Ant, 42, will appear on screen for the next few weeks as part of the BGT audition process.
But his co-star Declan Donnelly will be hosting the show solo when the live episodes begin later this month after Ant went back to rehab following his “drink-drive” crash.
In the first episode, which airs on Saturday night, Ant is back on top form as he appears on screen alongside Dec, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
But although there are plenty of laughs and jokes, Ant struggled to contain himself during one incredibly moving performance.
He wells up at the side of the stage before looking at the camera and saying: “I can’t stop the tears from falling…”
He wasn’t the only one who struggled to contain his emotion during the performance, with Amanda, Simon and Alesha also wiping away tears as they watched.
The scenes were filmed back in January, at the same time Ant confirmed to The Sun he was divorcing his wife of 11 years Lisa Armstrong.
Ant didn’t any take time off work and travelled the country with Dec for the BGT auditions in London, Manchester and Glasgow.
