Katie Price will crawl the London Marathon if her knees give up because she just wants to make terminally ill mum Amy proud

After her mum Amy was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition, Katie said she’ll do everything she can to raise awareness of the disease

KATIE Price has said she’ll crawl over the London Marathon finish line if her knees give up or if she collapses.

The 39-year-old is taking on the epic 26 mile race for a second time to make her mum Amy, who was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition last year, proud.

Brave Katie previously suffered heartache during the annual endurance race in 2009 when she suffered a miscarriage.

This time, Katie is determined to finish the race again – no matter what happens on the way round.

She told The Daily Mirror: “If I collapse, I better f***ing get up again.

“But even if I end up having to crawl, I will get over that line. Whatever has gone on in my life this year, I’ll put that aside on the day.

“I’m just looking forward to seeing my mum’s face when I’m at the finishing line. I need to see her face at the end to know I did it for her. And knowing that she’ll be proud.”

Amy, who was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, will be cheering Katie on come Sunday when she lines up to take part.

Speaking about her mother’s illness, Katie added: “Of course it will be a nightmare, but who cares? Sure, my knees are going to be in pain, but what about my mum?

“She can’t breathe. I’m still alive. I’m lucky to be alive, but my mum’s not that lucky as she’s got a terminal disease.”

It won’t be hard to miss mum-of-five Katie on Sunday.

She’s running with her good friend James who, like Katie, will be dressed as an enormous lung.

The British Lung Foundation has 130 runners taking part in the event this year, with Katie leading the charge.
